Two things: a server SDK downloading (or revalidating) a ruleset, and a client SDK asking us to evaluate remotely. Everything your servers decide on their own is free.

Billing questions.
Yes. Plan and interval changes happen in the billing portal and are prorated by Stripe. Annual plans take 15% off the monthly price.
Nothing breaks. There is no overage billing and we never switch your flags off. We warn the billing contacts at 80% and 100%, and you can upgrade when it suits you.
No. Server SDKs evaluate locally and those evaluations are free. Only ruleset fetches (including 304 revalidations) and client-side remote evaluations count.
From the billing portal at any time. You keep your paid plan until the end of the current period, then the organisation moves to Free. Details are in the terms.
Refund rules are described in the terms of service (draft). Statutory rights apply.
